Get to know me

My story isn't a particularly exciting one, but it's led to who I am today, and I'm pretty proud of that. I didn't always know I'd be a developer, in fact if someone had asked me 5 years ago what one even did I wouldn't have been able to give an accurate answer. I'm so early in my development as a developer but despite my short time in the field I feel like I've learned an incredible amount and tapped into a passion I didn't think I'd ever have. As I grow as a developer I'm excited to continuously update this portfolio. It will not only be a way for me to demonstrate my aquired skills in the field and allow readers to get a sense of my personality but a way to measure my own growth. Thanks for stopping by my portfolio, I hope that you learned about who I am as a developer and person!

My CSS "Creature"

This was my first encounter with using CSS to "make" something. At the time it was a huge challenge for me, now it just makes me realize how much I learned over the course of my 12 weeks at Eleven Fifty Academy

Tutorial Webpage

My first ever webpage built with HTML and CSS. I struggled with learning how to format and position my elements. Getting the website to be responsive was totally out of my depth at the time but I'm proud to say I've come a long way since the ~3rd week of my bootcamp

Octopals API

Learning how to use JavaScript to pull from an API almost broke me if I'm being totally honest. It was the 3rd week of the bootcamp and my brain wanted to explode! Thankfully I didnt give up and I got it done! Clearly I was still struggling with responsive scaling but it was still a triumph for me, using the Blizzard API to pull data regarding an old WoW guild I used to play with.

Bar Tabs

I finished this project around the end of my 7th week of EFA. We learned ReactJS and PostgreSQL for this particular project and I loved every minute of it. We had about 3 weeks to work on these projects and when I finished I had a fullstack project under my belt after only 8 weeks knowing anything about JavaScript!

Tripn

After just a little over 8 weeks of being introduced to JavaScript I was tasked with a group project that was to be built using Angular. It was a daunting task considering we had less than 2 weeks of getting to know Angular more or less on our own. With the help of two of my classmates we built a fullstack application that we named Tripn. We wanted to design it mobile first so if you want to get a sense of how its meant to look then I recommend you check it out via inspecting on IPhone, or even on your actual phone!
